Halloween Roundup

Halloween will look a little bit different this year, but I am determined to make it a special day regardless. So far, my plans include baking these monster cookies, watching Hocus Pocus (my favorite!), and helping my mom and sister assemble some Halloween gift baskets for my niece and nephews. I know how upset the kids are that they can't go trick-or-treating this year, but I hope they like what we put together for them!

For today's post, I wanted to share some recipes and DIY projects that might be fun to try out over the next few weeks, as we get ready for this unconventional Halloween...

  3. chocolate coconut bars | inspired by charm

orange you glad

Sorry! I couldn't resist using that silly expression. But seriously, it's orange picking season around here, and I am feeling a little adventurous. In previous years, my family and I just ate the oranges as is, or made orange juice. This year, however, I'm tempted to try these recipes that I found on Pinterest. Don't they look so good?!
  1. chinese orange chicken | damn delicious
  2. orange marmalade | baked bree
  3. cranberry orange loaf | table for two
  4. crab and shrimp salad with avocado and oranges | williams-sonoma

seasonal sweets

I couldn't help but notice all of the yummy seasonal sweets that have made their way to my Pinterest feed lately. Gone are the popsicles and ice cream sundaes that we enjoyed throughout the summer. Nowadays, it's the warm pies and flaky pastries that seem to have our mouths watering.
  1. pumpkin cinnamon rolls | my baking addiction
  2. pecan pie bars | the live-in kitchen
  3. salted caramel pear tarts | vikalinka
  4. cider bourbon apple pie | how sweet it is
